Work'n on the night moves - Closed
Daytime hasn't been working, as the moves go large and then peter out for the day. So, had a look at the markets after they opened for the evening. All timeframes were below the cloud, so entered an 8-tick retracement from the low of 110'260. When I had a look an hour later, price had dropped to a new low, so changed limit order and went to bed. Was filled in the middle of the night - @0312hrs SLD 1 x ZN @ 110'285. Stop 10 ticks, target 40 ticks.
Some numbers at 0830hrs and Mr. Powell speaks again at 1000hrs. Let's see what Mr. Market thinks of this today.
Well, didn't take long for the market to tell me what it thunk of me. At 0810hrs, BOT 1 x SN @ 111'015. Stopped out. Looked at it, and market came up to hit my target, went one tick higher, and then reversed.
Went to look at the overview, and saw that the market had hit the cloud, and reversed. MTF!
I thought of quickly just shorting to get in on the high but stopped myself. This is where taking two minutes after you get stopped out of a trade helps you look at the bigger picture.
When thinking clearly, I would have gone back to see what the overall picture had changed to, and noted that there were still big numbers to come out soon. My plan says to be flat going into big numbers and see where it goes after. Not jumping back in "cuz the market just wanted to get my stop" saved me some more cash.
Not having a good string of trades, but I know if I stick to the plan, I will be good over the longer haul. Just mentally difficult....
